(LOS ANGELES—August 12th, 2019)

Wrex Oliver is a well respected and busy director and performer in the adult industry and mainstream industry. Oliver got his start when he was in a music studio and met Sloane who then referred him to Bobby Manilla, and then went on to work with Maxwell G. Wrex Oliver comes from a very technical background, and worked as a mainstream recording engineer for 10 years before entering the adult industry.

“I have been working behind and in front of the camera since 2012, and while I’m not saying that I’m the best in the biz, it’s always a learning process, I feel that I’ve gotten to a point where I’m a well respected and in demand cameraperson. I also feels it’s good to give back and share some of the things I’ve learned to help others starting out. With so many performers shooting their own content now, I think it’s good to offer advice so they can make excellent content, like they say Content is king!,” said Wrex Oliver

Wrex Oliver offers some advice to new filmmakers and especially talent who are filming their own content

  1. “It’s just porn” is just an excuse for being lazy and careless.  This has been said a many times around the industry but remember, that quality is everything now a days. Taking shorts cuts and saying ” oh it’s just porn” brings down the quality of your product in an extremely competitive market.

  1. Niche, Niche and more Niche. Making typical everyday porn is a dime a dozen. When making content that caters to certain niches is key.  We can find bland boy/girl porn anywhere at anytime. It’s when you get into a niche market , that’s where you can make your product stand out more and find a more loyal audience.

  1. Stay consistent as possible! When you put out a scene or clip make sure you do it every week on the same day at same time. That way your audience knows when a new product is out, so they can buy it. When you are too sporatic they won’t know when the next thing is out, how are they supposed to buy it?  I know my favorite show is on Friday night at 9pm every week. When is your next release so I can buy it? Do they have to stalk your Twitter or keep refreshing the sales page?  Stay Consistent

Wrex Oliver is also a cameraperson also offers advice on Gonzo Filming. Gonzo usually shoots with 1 Camera and 1 Long continued Take. There’s dialogue that generally makes up on the shoot. Easy, Fast and Dirty, with not much editing needed.

Cinematic – Scripted, Multiple Takes within the same scene – Wide shot, Mid Shots, Tight shots – Close Ups etc then it is edited by an editor.  Very Time Consuming – Gives it a movie like “look”

CineGonzo – This combines both worlds, where you can have Wide Shots, Mid Shots and Tight shots and give it a movie like “Look” – However, is a way were we eliminate the need for editing, We shoot while editing at the same time in camera in order to save time. You don’t more than five clips and each clip is no longer than 30 seconds, not much editing is needed. It will still have the movie ” look” just without the excessively long takes and massive amounts of “coverage”

Some of Oliver’s releases that he has worked on include; “Baremaidens.com” for Sanctum, “PrevMom.com” and “Shoplyfter” for Team Skeet, “BrotherCrush.com” for Charged Media. Wrex Oliver has also worked for ATK for several of their lines, Hush Inc, Sweet Sinner, and Dogfart.
